AMES - Several streets north of Ames and Highway 69 near Ames were flooded Thursday morning.
According to reports all over social media and from the Iowa Department of Transportation, flash flooding was reported around 7:15 a.m. on the highway and streets north of Ames. The DOT reported that U.S. 69 was blocked from IA 210 (near Huxley) to U.S. 30 (near Ames).
Storms rolled through north-central Iowa early Thursday morning, and in some areas, there were heavy downpours.
