Iowa native and ‘American Idol’ winner Maddie Poppe will be back in her home state this week.
The Iowa State Fair announced the Clarksville-born singer and songwriter will come to Des Moines and be honored during the fair’s opening ceremonies on Thursday at 9 a.m.

The ceremonies will be held at the recently-renovated Grandstand.
Poppe won ‘American Idol’ back in May, and recently began her tour with the rest of the show’s Top 7 contestants on ‘American Idol Live’
