AMES – 19-year-old Teddy Perry killed himself one year ago.
His family is grieving all over again, as they’ve discovered his memorial — destroyed.
This all happened near Ames.
Teddy’s memorial has been at 180th and 610th for the last year.
When his family went to visit, they discovered that someone had shot it with a gun and shattered all their glass mementos.
Teddy tragically took his life on Oct. 19th last year after being bullied through high school.
Police found him with a gun shot wound to the head. And since that day, his family has found what little peace they can at his memorial.
The memorial is their safe place to talk to their son in peace — and escape the world.
But, their recent visit was different — bullet holes and broken glass have changed the face of the tribute to Teddy.
Teddy’s parents say that several people have reached out to them to replace what’s been broken at the memorial site.
The Story County Sheriff’s office is investigating this incident.
They’ve interviewed several people so far and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
