DES MOINES - A bike demonstration party was held Monday night to display new layout designs for East Grand Avenue.
Parking will be moved over to create a bike lane safer for riders. Leaders say it's really going to add to the city.
"When you redesign streets like this, what you're really doing is enabling economic development and connectivity and continuing to build upon a place and create a place that draws talent. So that's our interest from the Greater Des Moines Partnership's perspective is really building on that vibrancy that we have going,” said Meg Schneider, of the Greater Des Moines Partnership.
Construction will start on August 21 and is expected to finish up by the end of September.
