DES MOINES – A 5-month-old dog was left at the Animal Rescue League with a note stating that she was hit by a car.
According to doctors at the ARL, Nola was found shaking and in a lot of pain.
An X-ray shows where doctors inserted a stainless steel plate in her leg. Doctors say the plate will help stabilize her fracture.
“She’s going to be looking at about four weeks of really intensive cage rest and just making sure that bone get’s to heal properly”, said Tom Colvin with the ARL.
Nola has grabbed everyone’s attention on social media. The ARL has created a page where people can donate to her expensive recovery.
Although, the ARL is glad they were able to treat Nola, they wish whoever dropped her off could have given them a heads up.
“There are two emergency clinics in town in the area seeking some assistance from them to get them through the night may be another opportunity that people can take advantage of”, said Colvin.
