CLARKE COUNTY – A 17-year-old from Osceola sent himself and five others to the hospital Sunday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol responded to the accident at 1:22 pm Sunday, on U.S. Highway 69. in Clarke County.
According to the crash report, 17-year-old Austin Kartchner of Osceola was traveling southbound on highway 69. He lost control while going around a curve and struck another vehicle head on. Inside was 40-year-old Jennifer Sherman of Indianola and her three children.
Kartchner and a passenger were transported by helicopter to a Des Moines hospital.
Sherman and her children were transported by ambulance to the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola.
There is no information, as of Monday, on the status of injuries for the individuals involved.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office while responding to the crash.
It remains under investigation.
