Soldier stolen from Ft. Dodge hospice home

Local News

FORT DODGE – A soldier’s statue with important value for patients and staff at the Paula J. Barber Hospice Home is gone.

Police say they don’t know the exact day the statue was stolen but have narrowed it to March 16 and March 23rd.

The unique statue was donated by a local Veteran’s group. Employees at the hospice home say the statue was part of a soldier’s memorial.

In pictures given to Local 5, you can see a pair of solder boots, a rifle pointing down and a helmet.

Authorities say the community is upset over the robbery since it had been standing there for more than three years.

The criminal could face  two years in prison for the robbery.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Fort Dodge Police Department.
