The Iowa Attorney General isn’t giving guidance to county attorneys about CBD

Local News

DES MOINES Everyone seems to be talking about CBD. It’s the product that’s short for cannabis oil.

Dozens of stores across the state are selling it to people who have various ailments. Local 5 has learned that the Iowa Attorney General has not provided any formal guidance to county attorneys about how to prosecute individuals who buy and sell the product.

Those county attorneys can make their own decisions about how to handle CBD violators. Right now, some counties, including Story and Webster, have county attorneys who are cracking down on people who aren’t following the law and setting up CBD shops.
