DES MOINES - 1,254 MidAmerican Energy customers were without power in the state early Friday morning.
The following areas have been affected by the outage: Altoona, Ankeny, Dallas County, Des Moines, Jasper County, Madison County, Mahaska County, Marion County, New Sharon, Norwalk, Polk County, Poweshiek County, and West Des Moines.
The power outages are due significant damages caused by severe weather including broken poles, downed power lines and tree damage, according to MidAmerican.
MidAmerican crews have been sent out and are working on repairs but at this time there is no estimated time of restoration for customers that have been affected.
