UPDATE: According to Des Moines Police, 35-year old Preston Lee Davis of Des Moines was the victim in Saturday’s homicide. The suspect, Shawn Davis, has been arrested and charge with murder. They are brothers.
Police say very few neighbors were aware of the stabbing incident that took place inside the home on 56th Street, but family members were very helpful in the investigation, despite the difficult circumstances surrounding it.
“The thing about that that’s different is that we always have families that are impacted when we have these incidents, but when it’s in your own family it’s a little bit more challenging for people to make sense of it, because in a family everybody loves everybody,” said Sgt. Paul Parizek of the Des Moines Police Department.
Detectives still have not said whether the stabbing took place inside or outside of the house.
