MAHASKA COUNTY- The Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office and the FAA are investigating after a pilot was killed after crashing a small plane in a field.
70-year-old Bruce Gene Devick of Marshalltown was piloting the plane Saturday afternoon, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Devick was piloting a single-engine, two-seat light sport airplane when it struck a power line and crashed near 2082 210th Street in Mahaska County.
Officials say the pilot was dead when they arrived on scene.
The Sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the accident, along with the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
