MONTEZUMA – A press conference regarding the Mollie Tibbetts missing person investigation is happening on Monday after being postponed twice by police.
Officials with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Poweshiek County Sheriff’s Office will host the press conference with reporters Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. in Montezuma.
Reporters in Iowa haven’t heard from investigators in more than a week about Mollie’s case. She was reported missing on July 19. Authorities have not been forthcoming with a firm timeline of Mollie’s disappearance, but they say she was last seen on a run around Brooklyn that Wednesday night. They obtained a search warrant for the Fitbit Mollie was wearing on her run. Authorities haven’t released a route of Mollie’s run that night, or many other details since her disappearance.
A reward fun through Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa has been set up for Mollie’s safe return. Funds have exceeded $320,000 since it was set up more than a week ago.
