Scranton post office forced to close because of interior damage

SCRANTON – Residents in a small Iowa town are being forced to drive outside of town to get their mail and to use post office services.

According to a notice on the Scranton Post Office building, the building had to be immediately closed because of damage inside. All of the services have been moved to the Jefferson Post Office location. This is supposed to be a temporary move.

Jefferson is about 13 miles away from Scranton.
