DES MOINES – A person with a loaded gun and a knife was arrested by Iowa State troopers over the weekend at the Iowa State Fair.

According to Iowa State Patrol, the man was looking suspicious to some fairgoers. Those people called police. When officers got there to question the man, he took off running. Officers caught him and found a loaded gun and a knife.

Fairgoers cannot bring in weapons of any kind into the fairgrounds. However, there aren’t any metal detectors at the gates for fairgoers to pass through.
