The propsect of playing a team coached by one of Lisa Bluder’s former players has the Hawkeyes women’s basketball excited as they begin the NCAA Tournament.

The Hawkeye play Mercer on Friday afternoon. If they win the opening round game, they’ll play either No. 7 Missouri or 10th-seeded Drake on Sunday. Both teams have players coached by Iowa’s current leader during their college playing careers.

Iowa defeated Drake 91-82 earlier this season.
