Local gym creates 'gym on wheels', creating outdoor classes

The Robinsons who own Krave Gym are bringing the gym outside by creating a mobile trailer that carries workout equipment.

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — An idea that a local business came up with a year ago has actually thrived during the pandemic. Krave Gym created a mobile trailer that carries workout equipment and allows visitors to workout outside.

If you're someone that wants to be apart of that community indoors, the option still safely exists but some athletes have still chosen to stay at home. That's where the "gym on wheels" comes into play.

"People want to be healthy. They want to work out and they want to stay active but they're not comfortable with that and we respect that and we honor that," said Krave Gym owner Tyler Robinson. "You can train like an athlete anywhere you are."

The mobile trailer brings the gym outside, allowing for not only a socially distant and sanitized workout, but an extra layer of comfort for athletes to be outside. Some of the equipment was tweaked a bit to take on the road, but overall the workout is the same.

The Robinson's say this is opening the door to even more than just three weekly outdoor classes.
