Larissa Milles joined Local 5 News in August of 2023 as a Multiskilled/Reporter for "Good Morning Iowa"!

She comes to Des Moines from Duluth, Minn. where she worked at the NBC and CBS affiliate Northern News Now for several years. During her time there, she worked as a morning show producer, weekday reporter and weekend anchor. Larissa also had the privilege to intern with the station while she was in college.

She is a proud-born and raised Minnesotan and grew up in the beautiful Chisago Lakes area.

Larissa attended the University of Minnesota’s Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication, from which she received her bachelor's degree in Professional Journalism, with minors in Theatre Arts and Leadership in December of 2020.

In addition to her internship at Northern News Now, Larissa previously worked as a special coverage production assistant for ABC News during their coverage of the Derek Chauvin trial in Minneapolis.

Outside of reporting, Larissa loves reading (she maintains a reading goal of 100 books read every year), traveling around the world, attending live theatre events, and spending time with her friends and family.

She’s thrilled to be in Des Moines and share your stories! Feel free to reach out with any story ideas you think she should share, especially on topics related to health and education!
