DES MOINES, Iowa — Two people are hospitalized following an overnight shooting in Des Moines.
Police and fire crews responded to reports of a shooting on East 5th Street at around 1:50 a.m. Sunday, Des Moines police said on social media.
A 27-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were both hospitalized with a gunshot wound. Des Moines police report both victims were in "serious condition" as of 2:30 a.m., and remained hospitalized as of 7:45 a.m.
Police believe the shooting occurred following a dispute at a party. They say there is no ongoing danger to the neighborhood.
