DES MOINES, Iowa — A death investigation is underway after a body was found near the south bank of the Des Moines River on Sunday morning, according to police.
The discovery happened east of E. 14th Street at approximately 10:35 a.m. on Sunday. At this time, police believe there were "no obvious signs of criminal action as a contributing factor" at the scene.
The Polk County Medical Examiner is assisting with this investigation.
