Iowa Democrats announce 2024 caucus locations

While Iowa Democrats won't be indicating their presidential preferences on caucus night, party business will still take place at in-person caucuses on Jan. 15.

IOWA, USA — With just one month to go until the 2024 Iowa Caucus, Iowa Democrats have released their list of caucus locations.

The list, which was released Friday, has caucus locations organized by county and precinct.

“Our county parties and volunteers are working hard to make sure we have a successful in-person caucus night,” said Iowa Democratic Party Chair Rita Hart in a press release. “It’s vital that Iowa Democrats show up to their caucus locations and get involved in our democratic process. Iowans want to bring balance back to our state and the work to make that happen begins on January 15.”

However, not all counties and precincts have identified their Democratic caucus locations. In central Iowa, caucus locations in Audubon, Decatur, Keokuk, Mahaska, Marion, Ringgold, Sac, Union, Warren and Wright counties are marked as "to be announced".

In addition, some precincts in Polk County have also yet to be assigned caucus locations, including the Alleman, Doug 1, Elkhart, F.Mile1 and several West Des Moines precincts.

Democratic caucusgoers should also note a major change to this year's caucus: Iowa Democrats will not cast their presidential preference in person. Instead, voters can request a presidential preference card through the mail or online. The last day to request a preference card is Monday, Feb. 19.

Democrats will still conduct party business at in-person caucuses on Monday, Jan. 15. Party business includes electing delegates, county central committee members and platform resolutions.
