INDIANAPOLIS — Hoosier hospitality was out in full force Monday night as the state of Indiana welcomed Caitlin Clark to the Indiana Fever.

Moments after the Fever selected the University of Iowa superstar with the first pick of the WNBA draft, the other pro sports teams in Indianapolis, alongside city and state leaders and other notable figures, welcomed Clark to the Circle City.

The Fever, which had kept their lips sealed during the run-up to the draft after Clark declared her intention to turn pro in February, had several posts ready to go once the pick was made:

The Indiana Pacers also welcomed Clark to Gainbridge Fieldhouse:

Pacers' all-star Tyrese Haliburton, who had a big day himself on Monday when he was reportedly named to the U.S. Olympic Team, gave a personal shoutout to Clark. Haliburton went to college at Iowa State, the in-state rival to Clark's Iowa Hawkeyes.

"Glad we’re finally on the same side! Congrats and welcome to the city!! @CaitlinClark22," Haliburton posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Indianapolis' other sports teams also rolled out the red carpet for Clark:

Gov. Eric Holcomb and Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett also welcomed Clark on social media.

The Fever start the season May 14, with their first home game scheduled for May 16. Indiana hosts Atlanta on Friday, May 10 for their only home preseason game.
