Mystics game against Caitlin Clark and the Fever sells out Capital One Arena

The Mystics had already moved the match from their usual 4,200-seat arena in Southeast to the 20,000-seat Capital One Arena to accommodate more fans.

WASHINGTON — Tickets to see the Washington Mystics take on the Indiana Fever at Capital One Arena on June 7 are already sold out.

This news comes after the team announced it would be moving the game from its usual 4,200-seat arena in Southeast to the 20,000-seat Capital One Arena to accommodate more fans.

The demand for seats follows the woman's NCAA Tournament title game between South Carolina and Iowa, which drew a massive TV audience, peaking at 24 million viewers.  It was the most-watched basketball game since 2019. This includes men's and women's college games as well as NBA and WNBA matches.

The rise in popularity is largely attributed to rising basketball stars including Caitlin Clark and Aaliyah Edwards.

Tipoff for the Mystics game against the Fever is at 7:30 p.m.

More tickets will be going on sale later next week.

But some fans are upset, saying they had already bought tickets when the game was scheduled for the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Southeast, and when the game moved, Ticketmaster canceled their tickets suddenly and without warning.

Ticketmaster tells us they are working through the issue and anyone who bought a ticket through ticket master will have a chance to buy seats at the same price and the same sightline.

If this is you, keep an eye on your inbox. Emails will be sent this week with your new seat location.

However, Ticketmaster says they can't honor tickets sold on resale websites like Stubhub.
