Laura Bowen joined the Local 5 News team in January 2024 as an Investigative Reporter and Multiskilled Journalist. She previously worked at WTAP in West Virginia, where she won multiple Virginias AP Broadcasters awards.
She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with degrees in both cinema and mass communications with a broadcast journalism concentration.
Outside of her job, Laura loves going on random adventures with her friends around town, whether it’s a cat show, thrifting, or a festival. She’s also passionate about poetry and has two pet rats named Gollum and Nurgle.
