DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowa's Motion Picture Association is looking for entries for its 2024 film festival.
The 33rd-annual award show will take place on May 4, 2024, recognizing outstanding creative achievement in Iowa's film industry. The awards honor screenwriters, directors, actors, animators, composers and much more.
To enter, the project must have been completed between Jan. 1, 2022 and Feb. 29, 2024 — reentries are fine, as long as the project's entry category is different.
There are 57 categories for filmmakers and multimedia professionals, and three categories for student creators across all ages. Students are also eligible to enter professional categories, if they want.
Interested creators can enter the competition at this link up until midnight at Feb. 29, 2024.

Through these cooperative efforts, the IMPA provides its members’ information on opportunities, events, and issues affecting the production industry, helps to create the best conditions for production in Iowa, and ensures the prosperity of the industry," the association's website reads.
Some members of IMPA include Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who wrote "A Quiet Place" as student members and have since released "65".
