RAGBRAI 2024: Logo announced and upcoming dates for the famous Iowa bike ride

The RAGBRAI team has unveiled a new logo for the 51st annual bike ride. Registration opens on Nov. 15.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Editors Note: The video attached originally aired on July 30 when riders in the 50th annual RAGBRAI dipped their tires in the Mississippi River.

Event coordinators at RAGBRAI recently unveiled the schedule for RAGBRAI 51 and kicked off the countdown to the annual bike ride with a new logo — "Home Sweet Home.".

The design is modeled after a farmhouse in Ames, with a rider enjoying the shade of a tree after the day's hot ride.

"The spirit of this ride is built around the people and communities of Iowa," RAGBRAI ride director Matt Phippen said. "They've made this ride world class for 50 years and inspire us every day in the work we do to produce this event."

During RAGBRAI 50 this summer, about 30,000 registered riders made their way from Sioux City to Davenport, a roughly 500-mile ride through the heart of Iowa. Overnight cities are placed throughout the route where riders are greeted by the residents in those communities. Davenport was the final stop this past year and hosted a big celebration downtown to welcome the thousands of riders

For those interested in participating in RAGBRAI 51, registration opens on Nov. 15 at 9 a.m. and will close on May 15, 2024. At the beginning of the new year, ride officials will throw a route announcement party on Jan. 27, followed by the RAGBRAI Expo on July 20.

RAGBRAI 51 will start on July 21 and roll through Iowa until July 27, 2024. Ride announcements and updates will be posted on the official RAGBRAI website.
