The filing deadline for your 2019 tax returns is one week awa, after the IRS pushed back the deadline in the wake of COVID-19.
Financial professional Cameron McCarty joined "Good Morning Iowa" to talk about the deadline and how you can prepare for next year.
McCarty says that if you owe money this year, but because of the coronavirus, are not be able to make the payment by July 15. The IRS already extended the payment deadline by 90 days for all taxpayers to pay your federal tax bill for the 2019 tax year.
If you are still unable to pay when it’s due, the IRS can assist you with a payment plan.
