Iowa DPS cancels Endangered Person Advisory, brother and sister found safe

TOLEDO, Iowa — UPDATE: Billy Hernandez-Alvarado and his sister, Ashley Hernandez-Alvarado, have been located safely.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety issued the update on Monday morning.

An Endangered Person Advisory is now in effect, for a nine-year-old and eight-year-old.

The Toledo Police Department, in Tama County, says Billy Hernandez-Alvarado and his sister, Ashley Hernandez-Alvarado, were reported missing Sunday night. 

They are believed to be with their mom,  Ciria Alvarado-Argueta and Alexis Alvarez-Gomez. Authorities say they may be in a gray 2014 Nissan Quest (Iowa license plate NVB078), or a white 2022 Kia Sorento (Iowa license plate LLS086).

If you have any information on where Billy or Ashley may be, you're asked to call 911 or the Tama County Communications Center at 641-484-3760 extension 1.
