IOWA – There’s a new look available for Iowa license plates. The Iowa Legislature added an all black option for drivers. If you think it looks familiar, you might have seen something similar from Dordt College in Sioux Center.
“We think that people are going to be interested in this. We’ve heard people have bought the Dordt College plate simply because of the look and not because they have an association with the college so we think there will be some customers that will be interested in this,” says Dan Yeh with the Iowa Department of Transportation.
The new plates will be available starting on July 1. There is an additional charge for the specialty plate.
