POLK CITY, Iowa — A West Des Moines man was arrested Friday after Polk City police said he sexually abused three minors in central Iowa.

Police began investigating the suspect in February after receiving reports of sexual abuse against a female minor from Polk City.

The 19-year-old man allegedly had multiple videos and photos of minors as young as 15 performing sexual acts on his phone and Snapchat account, according to court records.

Search warrants obtained by Local 5 say the man was a youth volleyball league coach for at least one of the victims.

Two more minors were identified as victims as the investigation continued.

The suspect is charged with:

  • Sexual Exploitation of a Minor with Cause to Engage in Act (x1)
  • Sex Abuse - 3rd degree (x2)
  • Purchase/Possess Depiction of Minor in Sex Act (x1)

All four charges are felonies. The suspect is currently being held at Polk County Jail and has no bond.
