DES MOINES — Professional swimmers from across the world are in the metro this week to compete and test themselves against the best in the world at the TYR Pro Swim Series.
Over the next 4 days, you can watch 300 hundred athletes compete at the Wellmark YMCA in the heart of downtown Des Moines.
“We have world record holders, U.S. record holders, Olympic medalists–multiple Olympic medalists, international teams from Canada, Brazil, China, Great Britian. And so really they’re going to test themselves against the best in the world this week,” said Ruth Comer, Vice President, Marketing & Communications at the YMCA of Greater Des Moines.
Action kicks off at the MidAmerican Energy Aquatic Center Wednesday night at 6 pm with the 1500 meter Freestyle race.
