Iowans can now legally bet on sporting events.
The new law went into effect at noon on Thursday. It allows for people to place wagers on games, including prop bets. which is a bet on an individual athletes performance.
However, prop bets can only be placed on professional sports. Only outcomes of college games will be allowed.
