DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police say a man is dead following an ATV crash on Monday afternoon.
Officers responded to a report of an ATV crash on CB&Q Street around 4:30 p.m. Monday.
When they arrived, they found 58-year-old James Thomas Turner, of Des Moines, with "critical injuries". Turner was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
Police say evidence indicates Turner was traveling west when he lost control of the ATV, left the road and rolled.
This is Des Moines' 13th traffic-related fatality in 2023.
