Iconic rapper Lil Wayne to perform in Des Moines this April

Known for chart toppers like "Lollipop" and "A Milli", the Louisiana-born rapper is bringing his iconic sound to Des Moines this April.

DES MOINES, Iowa — Ready to get "Weezy"? Lil Wayne is bringing his iconic sound to Iowa's capital city. 

Lil Wayne will perform live at the Wells Fargo Arena on Thursday, April 11 alongside Cordae. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. 

Known for chart toppers like "Lollipop" and "A Milli", the Louisiana-born rapper joined the music industry as a solo artist in 1999 with his debut album "Tha Block Is Hot". And 25 years later, he's one of the most decorated and well-known hip-hop artists of all time. 

The iconic rapper, five-time GRAMMY Award winner and multi-platinum performer has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, and has the Billboard Hot 100 more than 180 times, placing him above other household names like Elvis Presley, Kanye West, Justin Bieber and many more. 

The legendary musician recently heaped praise on an Iowa basketball legend.

On Dec. 6, 2023, Hawkeye star Caitlin Clark became the 15th player in Division-1 women's basketball history to score 3,000 points. 

Lil Wayne shouted her out on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Caitlin Clark congrats on 3k!!! U a fkn dogg dogg!!"
