Southeast Polk Rams take home 5A championship against Ankeny Hawks

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — In Iowa's first-ever Class 5A state football title game, Southeast Polk beat Ankeny 24-7 to avenge their 2020 loss in the Class 4A Championship Game to the Hawks. The Rams led 10-7 after one quarter, and subsequently shut out the Hawks for the final three quarters.

Abu Sama ran 18 times for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Jaxon Dailey went 14-for-19 passing with 133 yards and an interception. He also ran for a touchdown.

Class 2A Championship: Southeast Valley 30, West Lyon (Inwood) 13

Class 3A Championship: Harlan 42, Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley 28

Class 5A Championship: Ankeny 24, Southeast Polk 7
