Iowa high school girls state wrestling tournament: 3 central Iowa girls win big

Five local wrestlers made it to the finals, with three coming away as state champions.

CORALVILLE, Iowa — The 2024 IGHSAU Wrestling State Championships came to a close Friday with three central Iowa wrestlers being crowned state champions and two others finishing as runner-up.

  • 100 lbs. - Katie Biscoglia of Raccoon River-Northwest (State Champion)
  • 110 lbs. - Jasmine Luedtke of Ottumwa (State Champion)
  • 120 lbs. - Leah Chandler of Chariton (Runner-up)
  • 130 lbs. - Colbie Tenborg of Saydel (State Champion)
  • 155 lbs. - Haylee McGrew of Ankeny (Runner-up)
