A woman is dead following a head-on collision between an SUV and a semi-truck in Carroll County, the Iowa State Patrol says.
26-year-old Lorraine Wuebker of Auburn was traveling south on Highway 71 shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday when she crossed the center line and struck an oncoming semi.
Wuebker was pronounced dead at the scene. Her vehicle came to rest in the west ditch of the roadway, while the semi came to rest in the east ditch.
The condition of the semi driver has not been released.
Weather and road conditions may have contributed to the crash, according to Iowa State Patrol.
The crash remains under investigation.
